Say No To Plastic Bag

An estimated 500 billion to 1 trillion plastic bags are consumed worldwide. That comes out to over 1 million per minute and billions end up as litter each year.

Less than 1% of bags are recycled. It cost more to recycle a bag than to produce new one.

There's a harsh economics behind bag recycling. It cost $4000 to process & recycle 1 ton of plastic bags, which can then be sold on the commodities market for $32.

Plastic bag waste are now the 5th most common debris item found on beaches.

Plastic bags do not biodegrade, they photodegrade, which means overtime they break down into smaller, more toxic petro-polymers.
